East Tennessee State women’s softball players Taylor, Porter, and Croley received postseason recognition on May 5 when the Southern Conference announced its 2026 softball awards.
The awards highlight individual achievements by East Tennessee State athletes during the current season. Recognition from the Southern Conference underscores their contributions to the team’s performance.
Taylor was named to the Second Team All-SoCon. She played in 43 of 49 games and started in 39 this season. Taylor leads her team with 21 stolen bases out of 26 attempts. She has a .343 batting average, six sacrifice hits, 36 total hits, and has scored 26 runs. Defensively, she recorded 96 putouts and two assists. Her season-highs include nine putouts in a game, three stolen bases in a game, three hits in a game, and two runs scored in a single contest.
Porter earned her first collegiate honor as part of the SoCon All-Freshman Team. She played and started all 49 games at shortstop this year. Porter led the Bucs with 142 at-bats and contributed with 29 runs scored, five doubles, three home runs among her totals for hits (32), RBI (21), and total bases (46). On defense she tallied up to five putouts or five assists per game while leading her team with a total of 94 assists over the season.
Croley also collected her first collegiate honor as part of the SoCon All-Freshman Team after starting all but three games this year at third base. She led East Tennessee State in runs scored with 33 while contributing eight extra-base hits including three home runs among her totals for hits (35) and RBI (29). Croley posted strong defensive numbers as well with season-highs including four putouts or five assists per contest.
All three players will join their teammates as they prepare to face Mercer on May 6 at Chattanooga’s auxiliary field for their first-round matchup in the Southern Conference Tournament.
