On Friday afternoon, the ETSU softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader, first against James Madison and then against NC State in the night cap of the Wolfpack Classic in Raleigh..
Leading after the first inning in game one, the Bucs ended up failing 5-2 to JMU, while falling 8-2 in the second game despite leading by two runs after the first inning.

JAMES MADISON RECAP
After both batters struck out to open the game, Muir belted her fifth home run of the season over the left-field wall. The solo shot would be the only scoring the Bucs did before James Madison used two errors by the Blue & Gold to answer back with two runs. Avery Pinder recorded a two RBI single to left field, which scored the runners who stood on second and third base.
In the bottom of the third, James Madison recorded a pair of singles and an RBI double by Jasmine Hall to add to their lead.
To start the sixth inning, Nayadley crushed her second collegiate home run with no outs, to make it a one-run game. In the bottom half of the inning, with two outs and two runners on, Kylee Gleason recorded her second hit of the day with a two-RBI knock down the left-field line to give James Madison the eventual 5-2 win.
NC STATE RECAP
In the second and final game against NC State this weekend, the Bucs came out swinging to start the game after Muir was walked, Cameron Young recorded a single, which advanced Muir to second. With Nayadley at the plate, she recorded her fifth and sixth RBI of the year to give the Bucs the early 2-0 advantage.
In the bottom half of the second inning, NC State capitalized off two walks to score a run as Ellie Goins recorded an RBI double to get the Wolfpack on the board. In the fourth, Amanda Hasler hit a home run to even the score at two apiece.
To close the fifth inning, the Wolfpack hit two homers with consecutive hits, as Taylor Ensley hit a two RBI home run and Goins followed up with another two RBI homer to give NC State the 6-2 advantage.
In their last offensive inning, NC State used the help of an error to score another pair of runs off a two-RBI single by Hannah Goodwin to give the Wolfpack the eventual 8-2 win.
