Milligan University indoor track sophomore Bryn Woodall was honored as the South Region Athlete of the Year by the USTFCCCA on Thursday.

Woodall claimed AAC Track Athlete of the Year honors after winning conference titles in the 1k, 3k and mile at the AAC Championships. He owns the NAIA's No. 1 time in 1k (2:25.31c), No. 2 3k (8:08.79c) and No. 4 5k (14:23.95).

He set program records in the indoor 3k and 5k this season and hit NAIA "A" standards in four different events. He also ran on the Buffs' school record and NAIA No. 5 distance medley relay. Last winter, Woodall earned All-America status in the 3k with a third-place national finish.

Woodall follows in the footsteps of former Buff national champion Tim Thacker, who collected the same regional honor in 2020 and 2021.

The Buffs are set to compete at the NAIA National Championships next week in Brookings, S.D. The NAIA announces its championship field on Friday.
