SBI Resilience Series talk to focus on ‘Community Resilience’ | East Tennessee State University
“Community Resilience” is the topic of an upcoming presentation in the East Tennessee State University Ballad Health Strong BRAIN Institute Resilience Series.
Melissa L. Roberts, executive director of Appalachian Promise Alliance (formerly Bristol’s Promise), will be the guest speaker for the free virtual presentation on Monday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m. Participants may register for the Zoom link at bit.ly/3IoVyHs.
In her presentation, Roberts will describe how her organization and its partners are helping move the Appalachian Highlands toward a more resilient future by mitigating ACEs (adverse childhood experiences) in a multigenerational, cross-sector collaborative way because the work cannot be done alone. The Northeast Tennessee Trauma-Responsive Care Network uses a “Collective Impact Model” to address the heart of this complex social issue and requires a wide array of partners and people to work together to achieve success.
Recordings of previous sessions in the Resilience Presentation Series are available on the SBI YouTube channel, which may be accessed by visiting the Strong BRAIN Institute website, etsu.edu/institute/strong-brain/, and clicking the Resources tab.
