The Milligan University men's bowling team notched a fifth-place finish of 18 teams at the Mid-South Conference Brandon Burns Memorial over the weekend.
The Buffs accumulated 5,993 pins over six games of individual play and 3,425 pins across 16 baker games for a total of 9,418 pins.
"This was easily the best our young men's program has performed," said head coach Brian Rickert. "I'm so proud of them for putting together a top five finish this weekend."
Tristan Crawford led the way for the Buffs with a ninth-place individual finish at 1,329 pins. He rolled four games over 200 with a high of 258 and an average of 221.5. Cameron Shockey followed in 20th with 1,263 pins (210.5 average) with four 200-pin outings and a high of 231.
Xander Stephens was 43rd with 1,206 pins (201 average) and Jackson McRae was 52nd with 1,177 pins (196.2 average).
The Buffs went over 200 pins in 13 of 16 baker games with a high of 252 pins. The Buffs' 3,425 pins was third-highest baker total of the event.
"The fact that we have no subs on our roster is making us a tremendously stronger team and the guys are forced to make every shot count," said Rickert. "We will be better for it once we reach the postseason."
Milligan bowling travels to Las Vegas in December for the Glen Carlson Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 18-19) and the Collegiate Shoot Out (Dec. 20-21).
