Tusculum University Burrowes named to SAC All-Tournament Team

Emiah Burrowes of the Tusculum University women's volleyball team was named to the South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament Team on Saturday (Nov. 12).

Burrowes, a senior from Wesley Chapel, North Carolina, played all seven sets of TU's tournament journey. The outside hitter totaled 31 kills on a .244 hitting percentage, 26 digs, and three total blocks.

In the opening sweep of Lenoir-Rhyne, Burrowes notched 13 kills and two of her blocks. Versus Carson-Newman, she recorded 18 kills and a block assist. In both contests, Burrowes tallied 13 digs.

Burrowes had an illustrious career as a Pioneer. She finished fourth in the record book in career attempts per set (8.72), ninth in kills (990), and 11th in hitting percentage (.218). Burrowes became the first player in program history to win both SAC Freshman (2019) and Player of the Year (2021) during her career. She was a consensus all-region selection as a junior and earned league honors in each full season at Tusculum.
