ETSU volleyball sophomore setter Caroline Dykes (Flower Mound, Texas) was announced as the Southern Conference Setter of the Month for October on Friday, notching her first monthly award.
Dykes, a six-time SoCon Setter of the Week, has had at least 20 assists in all 24 matches this season and continued that streak through the month of October. She had at least 30 assists in seven of the nine matches this month and four double-doubles.
The Flower Mound, Texas native also had three-set and five-set career highs this past month, including 45 assists in a 3-0 win over Western Carolina in Cullowhee and 56 in a five-set match against Chattanooga. Her performance against The Citadel was also noteworthy, tallying 40 assists and 17 digs.
Dykes also impacted the game with her serves. She landed 18 service aces over nine matches, including seven against UNCG in a three-set win. The seven aces tied a school record last set in 2000 by Katie Steidle.
