Milligan University junior Aaron Jones has been tabbed as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Jones and the No. 1 Buffs took home individual and meet titles at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge in Knoxville on Friday morning.
Jones ran his second-fastest cross country 8k time as he won the 128-man race in 24:10. Teammate Will Stockley was the runner-up at 24:11 as the No. 1 Buffs edged No. 10 Montreat by three points to take first place.
For Jones the victory was his sixth in 14 collegiate races. He previously earned AAC and NAIA Runner of the Week honors after his victory at the Queen City Invitational.
Milligan looks to win its fourth-straight AAC men's cross country championship on Nov. 5 in Columbia, S.C.
