Jenny Lea Academy of Cosmetology enrolls 85 undergrads

At Jenny Lea Academy of Cosmetology, 52 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 95 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The private for-profit school in Johnson City enrolled 85 students in fall 2018, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. No undergraduates were transferred from another college or university.

83 percent of undergraduates are residents of Tennessee, and 17 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (87 percent) and Black or African American (8 percent).
