East Tennessee State University’s softball team announced that the last three games of the 2026 ETSU Invite have been canceled because of weather conditions. The affected matchups included ETSU against Bowling Green State University (BGSU) at 10:30 a.m., Tennessee State versus BGSU at 1 p.m., and ETSU facing Tennessee State at 3 p.m.

The cancellations come after the Buccaneers achieved a 3-1 record in the tournament, securing two victories over Tennessee State and one against Bowling Green. Their opening game featured a notable 17-0 win over Tennessee State, marking the highest number of runs scored by the team since 2002 when they scored 21 against North Carolina A&T. The 17 runs also set a new facility record at Betty Basler Field and stands as the second-highest scoring performance in program history.

ETSU, now holding a season record of 7-1, is scheduled to resume play on Saturday, February 28 with a doubleheader against Alabama A&M, starting at noon and continuing at 2:30 p.m.
