ETSU sophomore shortstop Henry Ferguson has been named to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List, as announced by the College Baseball Foundation. The award recognizes the top shortstop in college baseball each year.

Ferguson, a Knoxville native, is currently leading ETSU in hitting after three weeks of the 2026 season. He holds a .455 batting average, with one home run and 13 runs batted in. Ferguson also leads his team with 11 walks and six stolen bases.

The Brooks Wallace Award is named after former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980 before passing away from leukemia at age 27. The College Baseball Foundation will present the award later this year.

“Ferguson and the rest of the Bucs will be back in action on Friday when they begin at three-game series at James Madison. First pitch between the Bucs and Dukes is set for 4 p.m. on ESPN+.” For more details about Buccaneer baseball, fans can visit ETSUBucs.com and navigate to the baseball section.
