ETSU men’s tennis team secures 11th straight win over UNC Greensboro

The East Tennessee State University (ETSU) men’s tennis team won its 11th consecutive match on March 11, defeating UNC Greensboro 5-2 in the opening game of the Southern Conference schedule.

This victory brings ETSU’s overall record to 11-3 for the season. The Buccaneers achieved three doubles wins with scores of 6-4, 6-0, and 7-5. With this result, ETSU has now secured the doubles point in eight out of its eleven victories this year.

In singles play, ETSU players won four out of six matches. The match was clinched by a Buccaneer player with a straight-set win of 7-5, 6-1. Another ETSU player also contributed a singles victory on the day.

The full results from Wednesday’s competition include singles wins at positions two, three, four, and six for ETSU. In doubles competition, all three pairs from ETSU recorded victories against their UNC Greensboro counterparts.

Looking ahead, ETSU will quickly return to action as it hosts Mercer on Friday. The match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
