The East Tennessee State University (ETSU) men’s tennis team secured a 4-3 win over the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) on Tuesday in Birmingham. The Buccaneers overcame an early 3-0 deficit to earn their sixth consecutive victory, improving their season record to 6-3.

UAB started strong by taking the doubles point and winning two singles matches. ETSU responded with wins in singles from multiple players, including Cowcher and Gonzales, whose three-set victories were key to clinching the match for the Buccaneers.

In singles play, ETSU recorded wins at positions one, three, five, and six. The doubles competition saw UAB win two out of three matches.

ETSU is scheduled to play Belmont next on Friday in another non-conference matchup. The match will begin at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time.
