East Tennessee State University’s women’s golf team is set to compete in the 2026 Low Country Intercollegiate, held on March 9-10 at The Golf Club at Indigo Run in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The event will feature a par-72 course spanning 6,156 yards and follows a 36-18 hole format over two days.

The field includes teams from Wofford, The Citadel, UNC Asheville, Appalachian State, Dayton, Tennessee Tech, Richmond, UNC Greensboro, USC Upstate, Gardner-Webb, Western Carolina, Quinnipiac, Butler, Winthrop and ETSU.

ETSU has a history of strong performances at this tournament. In spring 2024, the team won the event and finished second overall. Individual performances included one player finishing just one shot from the individual title while Sophie Bert secured sixth place and another team member finished eleventh.

Recent notable achievements for ETSU’s women’s golf include a top individual score of 225 (+9) at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational. Another player recorded her second consecutive top-five finish with a fifth-place score of 219 (+3) at the UNCG Advances Golf Partner Collegiate. Gambini achieved the team’s best round this season with a score of 68 (-4). One squad member earned her third top-20 finish of the season at the same tournament with a total score of 224 (+8).

Additionally, one golfer was named Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week on October 15, 2025 after securing her first collegiate win at the Terrier Intercollegiate with rounds totaling 217 (+1). Gambini managed rounds of one over par or better in five out of twelve rounds during fall play.

The team claimed its first tournament victory of the season at the Terrier Intercollegiate to conclude its fall schedule—a milestone as it marked their first win since capturing the Southern Conference team title in 2024.

Other results include an individual tying for thirty-first place at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate with scores including one round under par and another leading ETSU to seventh place at the Golfweek Fall Challenge with an overall score of 212 (-1).

During the previous season (2024-25), ETSU finished fifth overall in the Southern Conference Tournament and achieved their best team result with a podium finish at the UNCG AGCP Invitational. Their strongest single-day performance came during day two of More Than Golf Invitational when they posted +9 as a team.

Several key players from last year’s roster return for this season.
