East Tennessee State University’s softball team will resume Southern Conference play with a three-game series against Chattanooga on April 11 and 12. The games will take place at Frost Stadium in Chattanooga, with a doubleheader scheduled for the first day.

The matchup is significant as both teams hold identical conference records of 3-6, making the series an important opportunity for each to improve their standings. East Tennessee State enters the weekend with an overall record of 15-17, while Chattanooga stands at 15-21-1.

According to recent program highlights, East Tennessee State achieved several milestones this season. The team swept Furman for the first time since 2013 and recorded a historic 21-2 victory in game one of that series, which marked the second-largest margin of victory in program history. That same win also tied the program record for most runs scored in a single game and set a new mark for runs scored in one inning.

Several players have made notable contributions throughout the season. Moore leads the team with seven home runs so far this year, while Lutu has provided key offensive support during recent games. The squad features a mix of experience and new talent, including seven freshmen among its roster of returners and newcomers.

Head coach Cheryl Milligan is entering her fourth season leading East Tennessee State’s softball program and aims to build on her career record as well as improve upon last year’s results. The Bucs are scheduled to play a total of 52 regular-season contests across multiple conferences this year.
