The games mark the end of the regular season’s home slate for East Tennessee State, which currently holds an 18-26 record overall and a 6-12 record in Southern Conference play. Gardner-Webb enters the matchup with a 29-22 overall record and an 8-10 mark in Big South competition. The teams are set to play at 2 p.m. and again at 4 p.m.

The series between East Tennessee State and Gardner-Webb is tied at 17 wins each, with their last meeting resulting in two losses for East Tennessee State on April 8, 2025. The Buccaneers have achieved several milestones this season, including their first shutout in league action—a seven-run victory over Samford—and sweeping Furman for only the fifth time in program history. Their win over Furman included a historic game one score of 21-2, marking the second-largest margin of victory ever for the program.

Notable individual performances include Moore leading the team with seven home runs this season and Porter contributing three RBIs during key matchups. The squad has also seen strong contributions from both returning players and newcomers across multiple positions.

Looking ahead, East Tennessee State is scheduled to play a total of 52 contests this regular season—25 at home and another 27 on the road—against opponents from ten different conferences. Head Coach Cheryl Milligan leads the team into her fourth year aiming to build upon her career record as well as improve on last year’s performance.
