East Tennessee State University men’s basketball head coach Brooks Savage announced on May 8 that the 2026 Youth Skills Camp will take place from Monday, June 15, through Thursday, June 18. The camp will be held at Gordon Ball Court and Brooks Gymnasium and is open to rising kindergarten through seventh grade students.
The event aims to provide young athletes with instruction in shooting, ball handling, footwork, defense, finishing, spacing, and game play. According to the announcement, “Campers will receive skill instruction to improve shooting, ball handling, footwork, defense, finishing, spacing, and game play through competitive drills and teaching stations designed for all skill levels.” Savage said that members of the ETSU men’s basketball staff and players will help instruct campers throughout the program.
A registered athletic trainer will be present during all camp activities. Each participant will receive a camp T-shirt and a basketball. Campers are required to bring their own lunch each day; snacks and drinks can be purchased at a camp store available daily.
The announcement highlights that “Whether your child is just getting started or already loves the game, this camp creates an encouraging environment where players can improve, compete, and grow both on and off the court.” For more information about pricing or registration details for the Youth Skills Camp or season tickets for ETSU men’s basketball games this year by phone or online as indicated in the official release.
According to NCAA regulations referenced in the announcement camps are open to any and all entrants but may be limited by number of participants as well as age grade level or gender.
As summer approaches organizers expect spots at this youth-focused event to fill quickly.
